In the pursuit of structural optimization on the unit’s exclusive pole carrier package, UOS’ team of engineering experts wanted to ensure its simultaneous ability to withstand rugged terrain, endure vigorous force in the field, all while maintaining unparalleled versatility. The team’s mastery in accommodating these needs echoes throughout the configuration’s superior spec, which now comes loaded with powerful features; a custom rack design that maintains legal width for highway drivability, expandable side racks that contribute superior right-of-way pole carrying performance, and outrigger extensions which offer digger derrick stability on a higher frame, to name just a few. Similarly, application-focused optimization reigned supreme in the development of the unit’s innovative 1-man cab. What ensued was a compelling cab modification, supplementing the already-proven spec of the Peterbilt chassis with adaptable enhancements, such as side-of-cab butterfly wings, a superlative top-of-cab work light package with superior right-of-way visibility, and a back-of-cab roll-up door that now allows rear entry while poles are present – and still maintaining a Tier 4 engine.
